Christian Claussen, Partner at Ventech

  • Christian Claussen joined Ventech in 2013 as the firm’s fourth Equity Partner with the mission to spearhead its investment activities in the DACH (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) region from offices in Paris and Munich.

    After more than 16 years, Christian has personally invested more than €100m as a Partner with TVM Capital/Munich-Boston (1998-2008) and OMNES Capital/Paris (2009-2013). This included lead/co-lead investments into Tantau Inc./Frankfurt-Austin (NSDQ: 24/7 Systems), T.I.M.E AG/Frankfurt-Barcelona (acquired by Genesys), Telesnap GmbH/Stuttgart (acquired by Netwise), CoreOptics Inc./Nuremberg (acquired by Cisco), Silicon Hive B.V./Eindhoven (acquired by Intel), Netviewer AG (acquired by Citrix), Arteris Inc./Paris-San José (acquired by Qualcom), Plista GmbH/Berlin (acquired by GroupM) Definiens AG/Munich (acquired by MedImmune/Astra Zeneca), Trusted Shops GmbH/Cologne (Certification- and Confidence Solutions for e-Tailers), Turtle Entertainment GmbH/Cologne (digital media group for e-sports), TennisPoint GmbH/Oelde (Europe’s leading tennis-sport and apparel e-tailer), European Games Group AG/Munich (next gen F2P online games publisher), Trust You GmbH/Munich (SaaS-provider for online reputation management),TV-Smiles GmbH/Berlin (second screen TV-advertisement solutions) and Picanova GmbH/Cologne (eCommerce based mass-customization for home decoration products).

    Prior to joining the VC Industry in 1998, Christian worked for almost 10 years in Europe’s Telecommunications Industry as Head of Strategic Business Development and Product Management in Siemens’ Public Networks Group. He holds an MSc. in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Karlsruhe (D), University of Essex (UK) and the Ecole Supérieure des Ingénieurs en Electronique et Electrotechnique (Paris/F).
